Music lessons should be affordable and accessible for everyone!  
​The Music Coop opened as a non-profit lesson studio in 2018 to provide subsidized and free music lessons. No barriers. No complicated applications or hoops. Just the singular goal of music for everyone, no matter what.

WHAT WE’VE DONE
Since we opened, we’ve awarded $30,000 in scholarships to students of all ages and backgrounds. And in 2025 alone, as we’ve gained momentum, we’re on track to provide $15,000 in scholarship lessons. 

WHY WE’VE DONE IT
Music is a safe space. A third space. A place for folks to duck in after work or school, lower their stress, find joy, learn a skill. If you’re playing music, you’re making a wider community impact by getting smarter, keeping your brain healthy, and creating art—all of which radiate outward to everyone you touch. The Coop is a place to be your full, artistic, weird, bright self, and we pride ourselves on being a safe space for our LGBTQ+ community. 

We don’t see music as a luxury. It’s a priority. And we want it accessible to everyone.

To do this, we rely on the generosity of our community, subscribers, and fellow music lovers. If music has changed your life, then we ask you to pass along that kindness so we can double our scholarships in the next year.
