What do you teach?
We teach guitar, drums, bass guitar, ukulele, piano, voice, sax, flute, trombone, tuba, trumpet, euphonium, violin, viola, recorder, and songwriting lessons. Our instructors teach up to the advanced level in all of these disciplines.
Do you offer virtual lessons? How do they work?
Yes! You'll sign up for lessons as usual, then we'll send you an email to confirm your virtual lesson time with instructions.
What do I need for my virtual lesson?
Nothing fancy. Most students are using their phone - FaceTime or Google Duo. We're open to your video streaming tool of choice. For the lesson, make sure you camera/phone is mounted so we can see you and your instrument, and make sure you're in a well-lit room.
What are your core values?
We think music can be fun and taught at the highest level. Our teachers are top notch, but we want our students - kids and adults - to remember why they wanted to learn music in the first place -- because it's fun, it soothes the soul, and you take it with you for life!
And it should go without saying, but we'll make it clear: The Music Coop is inclusive. That means everyone has the right to respect no matter their gender, sexual orientation, ability levels, physical appearance, age, race, ethnicity, or religious beliefs.
How experienced are your instructors?
All of our instructors have degrees in music, and have decades of experience in their instruments, at all age levels and ranges. Their styles are comfortable, fun, and professional. You'll get the real deal here, but you'll also have fun while you learn.
How much for a lesson?
Lessons are $35/per half hour. We offer discounted lesson packages for bulk purchases and subscriptions. If you need financial assistance for a lesson, just let us know -- no questions asked. Music is for everyone.
Who can take lessons?
Everyone, ages 0-1000. Whether you're just starting out or have always wanted to learn, we'd love for you to join us.
Do you teach adults, too?
We absolutely do. Half of our students are adults, at all levels.
What's the parking situation?
We have a free lot in front of the space, and plenty of street parking.
Can I drop off my student? Or can I wait for my student at the space?
In typical times, you're welcome to drop off, or wait - your choice! Because of current COVID-19 protocols, we ask that you wait in your car for your students.
Do you offer group lessons?
Sure do! Group lessons are our standard rate ($35/half hour) plus $10 for each additional person. Bring the whole family.
What's your lesson cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel after 24 hours for any reason, you'll need to reschedule your lesson by emailing or calling. If you aren't able to reschedule, you'll be charged the cost of the missed lesson.
Can I buy a lesson or gift certificate for a loved one?
